Poetry: On Purpose

For Blue, I told you I’d write you one

Blue sweaters and tennis shoes

Three musketeers who would cruise

Through first year and as Volley and I almost sank

Your ships would rise and to be frank

Even if you don’t remember, I very much do

How you helped me when I needed you

//

I sat next to you on purpose, in CBL

One of the three of you guessed but I didn’t tell

That at the time I was with someone else, it’s true

But my heart also beat a little bit faster for you, Blue

And walking along tree-lined paths to the Green Room

I’d slow down a bit because you lifted my gloom

Please stay,
