Poetry: Fire

I’ll miss the lemon verbena tea otherwise x

It’s an ache in my chest that burns

With fury and fire

Hot breath at the coal face

Of a steaming train heading into oblivion

Pure. Fucking. Longing.

Breathe in, breathe out

I don’t know, my lover

What it was that you ever truly felt for me

You were a fire that I walked straight into

But if you want to come

Come with me

I’ll walk back into it

Through Vulcan’s forge and into

Your furnace
