Poetry: Roam Free

Thumbs and fingers get everywhere in a glorious messy picture

And desperation in equal measures delving deep for buried treasure

Connection and your hands in mine and my hands in your hair

We worship at an altar and sing hymns full of tea and tender care

The love the light the life that is between us grows ever brighter

As the space between us gets smaller and I’ll hold you tighter

For as long as you shield me from the world and let me float away

I’ll sing for you and make you soup and cheer you on and watch you play

For wherever and however we roam we both roam free

We’ll never be goatforsaken as long as it’s you and me
