It’s a strange way to celebrate your birthday
Maple my dearest
I wish I could be there to give you a card
And a hug
Even if only for five minutes
As you gave me on my birthday
But a poem and the best wishes of my heart
Are all I have to give in this moment
And so I’d like to say
You really are a jolly good fellow
You really do find the best in people
I love the cups of coffee that you buy me
We should definitely go out to dinner
So we have time to talk properly and I’m not rushing off
Every two seconds
If I was there
I’d sing it to you on my guitar
I hope you get a Canadian Muscle Car
And have fun in Redcliffe
Happy birthday, Maple
A very happy birthday to you
