My face is weeping with long streams of tears stringing down
In a rainbow of colours I am crying for my lover
I cry orange for his love of life and
I cry pink for his sweet smell like peonies and
I cry green for the new sprouting plants I watered and
I cry a deep dark purple for the way he held me and
I cry and he holds me in an embrace as warm and rich as the
Mediterranean Sea and who really know what colours the Greeks
It’s a question I don’t know the answer to and I am crying while
The painted face I dragged over my own cracks as it dries and
Washes away in the endless rain of tears I am crying for you
