If I turn left I wander in a field of flowers
Growing tall like poppies and wild like roses
Through undulating hills that never end
Windows with the starlight shining through
Unbeginning freedom that continues to grow
//
But
//
If I turn right there is a man who darkens my door
I would never be alone not would I be lonely
In fact I would feel nothing at all but the prickle
Of eyes on my back watching and waiting to lay hands on me
Sticky paws clawing through my veins like his kisses clawed into my heart
//
But
//
At least I didn’t end up alone
