Poetry: Ask

In broken cold and lonely nights wide eyes hope for cracks

In the light to open doors to things long sealed and it’s a god of

Clever commendations and wise conciliations I pray to and hold to

Under his auspices I would adore only you and you own me

You take me places I don’t know how to go all alone

That’s binding and please bind me and warm me from

All sides with brilliant sweet touches effervescent in simple joy

Flicker my heart into flame once more and fan the flames blow

As much as you can and ask for whatever you’d like for a man as you are

I’d move the heavens, the earth and I’d even change my whole life
