Poetry: Makes It Okay

For Lexicon, a man of both character and unending food preferences.

When I walk into the valley of the shadow of fear

(Otherwise known as my university)

I never fear that I need to stand alone

Holding your hand and feeling you pat my back

As I sob my heart out and speak of

Unspeakable things

Makes it okay, you made it okay

You’ve asked me now and again

What kind of a character you’d be

Well the truth is I would be at somewhat of a loss

To describe you as anything but yourself

Principled to a fault

Wise in heart as well as mind

A wonderful father

A good friend

A well-loved cousin

With all my love,

Marie Athena
