Poetry: Angry Buzz

For Sassy, you know why

The thing about lockdowns is that they seem to go on

And on and on

There’s never a moment where you think

Oh this went quickly

Oh this isn’t stressful

It’s more like a ticking time bomb

Where you are waiting for your own mind to implode

From the sheer boredom

It’s punctuated only the angry buzz

Of a lawnmower outside my window

Go away

Haven’t you heard?

There’s a plague on

Government mandated naps

Are the orders of the day

Stop harshing my delicate jam

But the thing about lawnmowers is that they seem to go on

And on and on
