Marie Athena is my pen name, but in the real world this is the personal website of Rose Petrohilos, a junior doctor and passionate writer from Victoria, Australia. I love cherries, soy chai lattes and plumbing the depths of the human experience (as well as the depths of terrible writing, because let’s be honest, not everything on here is a banger).

My areas of interest include trauma-focused mental healthcare, sexuality and gender in medicine, preventing the sexual harrasement and sexual assault of junior doctors, ASPD/NPD, PTSD and good general practice.

On a more personal note, I love writing, because it lets me share emotion with as many people who will listen. I fall in love pretty regularly, it’s the best feeling in the whole world so I don’t let it bother me too much. I don’t believe in holding back, so I’ll write about sex, violence, love, spiritality and everything in between. Most of my work is actually written for and about my real-life friends and lovers, so keep an eye out if you think you might be featured.
