Apple trees are seeds that you plant when you’re being chaotic
Spreading joy wildly while throwing cores out of a speeding car
“Here!” they like to say to the Earth “I’ll grow here!”
“And there!” they yell pretty wildly “I’ll grow anywhere!”
We’re a resiliant, reliable, pleasant bunch we wonderous
Fruits of Eden
We’ll grow and grow so long as there is a bit of water
A splash of love or two
And a generous helping of freedom
About the only thing apple trees don’t like is secrets
That’s why we had to share our knowledge with Adam and Eve
Because it wasn’t really fair that they didn’t know what clothes were
Or shelter, or how to read and write, or why you’d put an imaginary cat in a box
All the angels and demons got to know so why wouldn’t God
Want humanity to have the fire of life too
