Love Found Us When We Went Looking

My lover slips in between the trees as quietly

As he slips in and out of my heart and although I hunt him

He eludes me and all I hear are the soft cries of my own heart

With a bell here and a lonesome drum beart there the music

Wishes me lover into my arms and I am dancing in a grove

To the rhythm and melody that he has left me with

//

Although I curtsy there is no one bowing in return

Although I kiss there are no soft lips to recieve

Although I speak poetry I hear only silence

//

Her lover has abandoned me the same way as mine

She ran through the forest barefoot and shining

Looking for him and wandering, always wandering

She visits the places where he used to go and finds joy

In the memories the same way I do so we decide to dance

Together but still alone loving only in separation

//

Although she whispers only I hear her voice

Although she makes merry only I see her smile

Although she picks flowers only I can smell them

//

Our lover stands before us beautiful and full of fire

Ready to join us on adventures begging forgiveness from ire

We pass the test we thank him and say goodbye with no regret

No longer looking for love but love having found us

We are at home and at peace in a fairy circle of pleasure

Love found us when we went looking and we found love

//

Although we embrace we feel only each other’s armsAlthough we sing all we hear is each other’s voicesAlthough I only love her she only loves me in return
