Poetry: Modern Sacrament

Sweet cream and lovely deep delicious sin

Stone on stone back-breaking blood making

And it flitters through our fingers old gold

Cadbury and werther or not we try to fight it

Chocolate draws us in her seduction is violent

//

Gooey warmth the grows from within

Remembering the guilt and the pain of others

Sent back but feel the rush the absolute hush

When the bar first breaks and anticipation

Is writ on everyone’s face we cannot wait

//

To enjoy and partake a modern sacrament we make

Eyes closed in new rapture and we feel haste

To quickly push away any stress from our minds

Be at one with the decadent indulgence of our times

Chocolate ice cream cake bar chip cookies crumbles
